WEST POINT, IN – The Tippecanoe County crash investigation team is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that happened on the 5400 block of S 700 W Saturday, according to WRTV.

A person driving a Nissan Maxima was on northbound S 700 W when they failed to negotiate a curve and strayed off the road before crashing into a ditch and rolling over onto its side around 1:47 a.m. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially launched from the vehicle.

Authorities believe speed may have played a role in the wreck. It is unclear if the driver was impaired.

Officials have not released the victim’s name.
