INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A man was found not guilty on all charges in relation to a fatal auto vs. pedestrian collision that killed a 7-year-old girl in a crosswalk outside George W. Julian School on Sept. 14, 2021, according to FOX 59.
Torell King, 23, was having a road rage episode with a 17-year-old female when the 17-year-old swerved and collided with a Mercury Mariner. The collision pushed the Mariner into the 7-year-old girl, the girl’s mother, and a crossing guard.
Rescue crews transported all three victims to an area hospital, where the 7-year-old girl died.
Authorities charged King with criminal recklessness and felony reckless homicide. A jury found King not guilty of all charges on Wednesday.
Officers also charged the 17-year-old girl with a variety of charges including reckless homicide, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, criminal recklessness, and operating a vehicle with never having received a license.
Since the girl was 17 years old, her court records are sealed.
